First, we must give a loud shout-out to all of the amazing food and design vendors, sponsors and volunteers who joined us on this unprecedented adventure. What an adventure it was! A huge thanks goes to each and every one of you who braved the crowds and came out to support the first ever LA Street Food Fest on an unseasonably sunny day. We expected the masses, but with your friends, mama and grandma in tow… wow, did LA represent. We’re heartbroken we couldn’t get every last one of you in, but know that the monumental turnout is a testament to LA’s love of local culture and food. You made it clear that Angelenos – and even out of towners – will come out in force from far and wide to support great community events like this. Now that everyone in the city (and even the country) has seen the enthusiasm for LA street food, we’re ready to rock the next event with even greater support.
The LA Street Food Fest was an event that’s never before been attempted and needless to say we experienced plenty of growing pains. We want you to know we’re aware of the challenges and frustrations some of you faced and we’re pouring over all of the valuable feedback you’ve shared with us. We already love some of the ideas that have come in and are busily back to our drawing boards working on how to implement them all for our next event.
While you may not have made it into the fest, we are forever grateful for your support and proud to have started something so special in the city we love. Because of you, downtown Los Angeles was filled to the brim with an unprecedented amount of spirit and support for local business, as thousands took the opportunity to discover LA’s revitalized, historic downtown area.
Thanks again for your amazing support of us, the talented chefs who put such great care and passion into their eats and treats, this new event, and the great city we call home. We can’t wait to do it (with all of you) again!
